Useful web app for planning a party
This post is a little random, but I just found something I've been looking for, for ages...
Picture this: the sailing team has about thirty members and wants to plan a party. So someone starts emailing candidate dates and email anarchy soon ensues. Things like this are always happening to me (house dinners, group drinks, etc.) so for years I've been wishing someone would produce a web app to help in those situations.
The way I pictured the app working is that someone produces a page for the event and lists the candidate times and when they are free. Then everyone else goes to the site and indicates which of those times they are available; eventually a list is generated saying how many people can make each possible time. I'm not nearly skilled enough to produce such a site, but someone else is, and has produced exactly what I'm after: http://www.when2meet.com/. I don't think it allows the possibility of saying 'maybe' for availability, which would have been nice, but hopefully some of you will find this useful too.
